Come witness what created a re-direction in horsemanship and open your mind to a whole new perspective on your horse’s methods of communication and behavior.

Gentling Wild Horses
Join~Us each summer for the experience of a lifetime! Gentle wild horses in California with Monty Roberts.
This course will give students the opportunity to use Monty Roberts’ non-violent methods with untouched (wild) horses. This course is open for everyone (at any horsemanship skill level or those completely new to horses), but ‘hands-on’ sessions will be limited to the skill set of each individual.
Horsemanship 101
Our Horsemanship 101 is perfect for those new to horses, returning after a long break or trying to overcome fear, or those who would like a brief introduction to Monty Roberts’ methods.
Now offered as a one-day course, Horsemanship 101 is also recommended for visitors and residents who would like to experience a day at Flag Is Up Farms.
Introductory Course
The Monty Roberts Introductory Course of Horsemanship is the first step to gaining an in-depth understanding of Monty Roberts’ concepts.
The course is suitable for students of any age (16+), and all levels of equine experience (your instructor will pair you with horses and tasks suited to your abilities). However, as it is a 2-week, intensive course, for those with little or no horse knowledge, we recommend prior participation in a Horsemanship 101 Clinic.
Introductory Exams
The Introductory Exams can only be taken after completion of the Monty Roberts Introductory Course of Horsemanship and sufficient home / field study.
When our Certified Instructors determine that you are ready, you will return to the Monty Roberts International Learning Center for practical and written exams, at successful completion of which, you will graduate from the Introductory Course and be eligible to take the Advanced Course.
