Question: Are mustangs different from domestic horses?

You have a great love and a very special attention for mustangs and you’ve trained a lot of wild mustangs. Are mustangs different from domestic horses? Why are they so special?

Monty’s Answer:

One should remember that mustangs are feral and not just wild horses. These horses were wild in Africa before domestication in Spain and Portugal. They were brought across a narrow strip of water to work the cattle in that part of the world. The Spanish explorers brought them to the Western United States to work the cattle for the leather they produced. They are intelligent, athletic and, if properly treated, can love their work.

Sincerely,
