ADOPTION OVERVIEW

MARIPOSA

About Mariposa

Mariposa is a beautiful paint Appendix (Quarter Horse x Thoroughbred).

Aptly named for the perfect butterfly pattern on her shoulder, Mariposa has a big heart and sweet, gentle nature.

She was surrendered to Wild at Heart Horse Rescue by her terminally ill owner who, due to circumstances, had neglected their horses for some time. Although 9 years old, Mariposa had never been ridden and was started a few weeks ago by Monty and his team.

She has come leaps and bounds in the weeks at the MRILC. She is eager to learn and gaining both confidence and trust daily.

Unfortunately Mariposa is unable to be safely ridden and can only be rehomed as a therapy (ground-based) or companion horse. As such her previous adoption fell through and she is looking for her forever home.

Her big heart and gentle, sweet nature has made her an excellent horse for therapy work in our Horse Sense & Healing program for Veterans with post-traumatic stress. She can be used in ground-based work (including Join-Up and long lining). Please contact us for further details.
